Hupparit

Teimme tänä vuonna 6:dennen luokan työnä hupparit. Aloitin työn tekemisen saumuri- harjoituksella. Kun tuon vaiheen olin ohittanut, aloitin tekemään kaavoja paperille kynän ja viivaimen avulla. Kun hupparin osien kaavat olivat valmiit, piirsin osat valitsemalleni kankaalle. Kankaani on tummansininen. Hupparin kaavat olivat etu- ja takapuolelle, hihoille ja hupulle. Kun olin leikannut kaikki kappaleet, aloitin etu- ja takapuolien ompelemista yhteen olilta. Se onnistui minulla hyvin. Kun olin ommellut ne, aloitin ompelemaan hihoja. Siinä oli hieman haastetta, mutta sain hihat sellaisiksi miksi ne halusinkin. Nämä kaikki on ommeltu toisiinsa kiinni saumurilla. Hihojen jälkeen aloitin hupun ompelemisen keskitakasaumasta. Kun kokonaisuutena kaikki hupparin palat olivat ommeltu, printtasin DANCE tekstin hupparini alareunaan. Siinä teksti piti leikata paperista irti, asettaa haluamalleen paikalle ja silitysraudalla silittää siitä päältä. Näin printti tarttui huppariini. Kun olin saanut printin huppariini, aloitin reunojen huolittelun. En valinnut resoria, joten käänsin hihoista 3cm ja alahelmasta n. 5cm. Tämän jälkeen ompelin ne kaksoisneulalla ja niistä tuli hyvin siistit. Olen todella tyytyväinen työhöni ja työtä oli kiva tehdä. Joskus työn tekeminen vaati paljon kärsivällisyyttä, mutta nyt työni on todella hyvä.

Trikootyöt

Tein olkaimettoman maximekon ja neuletakin. Maximekon yläosa on vihreä ja alaosa on pinkki. Neuletakki on punainen ja siinä on punaiset napit, jotta sen saisi kiinni. Mekon helma on tiukka ja kapea. Vaikeinta oli ehkä nappien ompelu. Mekon helma olisi voinut olla leveämpi. Muuten se on ihan kiva. Alunperin ajattelin, että tekisin puna-valkoraitaisen neuletakin, mutta kaupassa ei ollut sen väristä kangasta. Toisaalta kun nyt jälkeen päin mietin,

että pelkkä punainen on kyllä hienompi kuin puna-valkoraitainen.

making of the hoodies

CSABI
Once upon a time we started. First we made our plans where we both had the same problem. We both had two ideas in mind one of us had swimming and some other random thing. I had assasins creed clothing and "Im with stupid" logo. So we mixed up our ideas and it turned out to be awesome.

Yes, so as my friend Csabi mentioned above, we had plans for our hoodies but before that there was a lot of hard work and MATH to do before we would get to the stage where we could bring our designs to life.  First we had to trace the pieces on to a special tracing paper before we cut the pieces out. Both of us didnt want to ruin our hoodies so we worked carefully but fast and so we were th first ones done. I wanted to have strings for my hoodie so you could tighten my colossal hood. Over all I think my hoodie looks good.

 

Michael and Chabi 6B

Dress fit for our styles.

The project was for us to create a garment from scratch to fit our sense of style. We decided to make double colored dresses with a belt separating both bottom and top. The project was mostly easy but some parts were challenging. For example adding the elastic band around the neck was new. One problem for the dress was around the arms, it was baggy so we decided to add a framilon band. We have used mostly tricot fabric for our dresses.

This project made us see that its not that hard to do your own clothes.

Lace Garments

I made a tight fitting dress with lace and a tight fitting, off the shoulder crop top with lace sleeves. In the beggining i knew, that making these would be difficult because of the lace, because it was non-stretchy. I think one of the most hardest things in this process was making the fabrics fit my body. I always tried to make the garments a little bigger becauce you can always make it smaller but it's hard to make it bigger. I had to add some fabric to the dress to make it more stretchy because  the lace made the top half smaller. Also another problem with the lace in the dress was that I couldn't sew with the twin needle across the lace on the chest, so I had to use diagonal stitching which made the chest not so neat. I think in the end both garments turned out to be wearable but I favour the shirt more because it came out neater.

Elegant skirt

We made a high-waisted layered skirt. It was challenging because of all the layers and steps. Both of us had a chiffon layer on the top. One of the skirts needed more layers because the underwear would've shown through. The black skirt had many layers of tullé to make it voluminous. Both of the skirts have an elastic band on the waist. One thing we like about the skirts is the roll-seam that we made with the searger on the hem. It's more suitable for evening wear than day time wear. Overall, we like the skirts, they look very well made and pretty. <3

 

 

 

Chiffon dress

I started with the idea of a black party dress, that's short from the front and long from the back. Chiffon is an easy material to work with, and it added a kind of flowy feeling to it. Underneath is a short black tricot dress. The top part is a kind of a corset model, several parts together. I like it because it's so fitted and interesting. The simple tricot skirt was easy to make. For the chiffon part, I put the dress on a mannequin, wrapped the chiffon around the waist and cut the hem short from the front. Then I used a sewing machine and added the chiffon hem to the dress using an elastic string.

 
I'm really happy with it, it is just as I thought it would be, and fits me really well. The chiffon hem was complicated and I could have done the attachment to the dress better.
 

Crop top

My project was a white crop top. I wanted it to be flowy and loose at the bottom. I didn't want it to have any pattern because I wanted it to be plain and wearable with everything. Making the crop top was quite easy, even though it took some time. I chose viscose tricot as my fabric and made it so that it has two layers. It has an elastic band at the top so it would stay on me, but I also sewed on removable straps. Im really happy with my crop top.

Hoodieception ... Huppareita valmistuu

6. luokkalaisten kanssa on tehty huppareita. Nyt alkavat valmistua. Hienoja ovat!

Työtä oli kiva tehdä, joskus oli vaikeaa.
Suunniteltiin työt minkälaiset me haluttiin, siis saatiin itse miettiä ja päättää minkälaiset niistä tulee.
Kokeilimme työn aikana monia uusia asioita esim. resoreita ja saumurilla ompelu.
Nyt ne ovat valmiit ja niistä tuli kivat.
